I won’t lie, I’m kind of a regular at the Frosted Cupcakery in Hollywood.  A few of the employees might even know my name.  So this review wasn’t my first excursion to Frosted, but it was just as joy-inducing as ever.  First of all, the people who work there are SO nice.  They manage to laugh politely at my bursting enthusiasm for their cupcakes and my torment over choosing flavors without seeming condescending at all.  I suppose they probably see people like me all day.  Crazed cupcake aficionados.  Maybe it would behoove them to organize some sort of mixer event?  The cupcake fanatics in this city really need a formal organization.

This time out, I decided to get all 3 of their Hi-Top selections, which are basically mini cupcake sandwiches with the frosting in the middle.  I had the salted caramel (a little too sweet for me, unlike their other goodies), chocolate (REALLY rich bittersweet chocolate that had a hint of coffee flavor) and red velvet (pretty plain, unusually dry for them).  Out of the three, I definitely liked the chocolate the best, but in general I think their Hi-Tops pale in comparison to their absolutely scrumptious cupcakes.

And speaking of cupcakes, I went with a seasonal pair of Pumpkin and Carrot Cake cupcakes.  The carrot cake wasn’t too sweet (awesome), was just a wee bit drier than I usually like, but was topped with their cream cheese frosting, which is pretty much out of this world.  I could eat a bucket of it without thinking twice.  The pumpkin cupcake was seriously worth crossing a desert for.  It was SO moist, simple, subtle, and was also covered in that deliriously good cream cheese frosting.  Writing this is making me want to go get another one.  Right now.

 Verdict: YUMMMMM
